I'm actually pretty happy with this shot, despite being the first galaxy shot I've attempted. The dust lanes in M82 (left) are clearly visible, and you can make out specs of nebulae in M81 (right) along the spiral arms if you look carefully enough. Noise started taking over though, so I'd consider this one to be about at the limit.This was the first imaging run with the used CGE mount I picked up, and was more a test of the tracking. The fact that the image came out this good is just a bonus.Layer masking was used on M82 (left) to keep detail in the dust lanes under control, while M81 (right) was really just run through curves.
